Christmas Craft

So, I had grand plans to do all kinds of Christmas crafts with my children this year because guess what my dad gave me for Christmas...... A CRICUT!!!! That's right folks. I have my very own Cricut cutting machine now that I use for all kinds of fun projects. On the other hand, between Primary Christmas programs, sickness, trying to get Christmas done early, AND get ready for our trip to Brazil, this is the only project we did. Oh well, it's still really cute!

Bella never managed to do hers.
She was too busy playing with her friends.

THANKSGIVING IN UTAH

So, even though this post is titled Thanksgiving, I really don't have any pictures of Thanksgiving. Whenever we are in Utah for Turkey Day we always have Thanksgiving with my family and Christmas with Kirk's family. My children think this is great because they get their whole Christmas from Grandma very early. So, basically it was a week of parties in Utah. We stayed with my sister in her new house in Clearfield and it was so fun because my dad came over every morning for breakfast. We went out for our traditional Black Friday shopping with my niece and had a great time. Actually, we just stayed up all night at Wal-Mart waiting to purchase our items!

Christmas at Grandma's is always fun. She goes out of her way to make it all about the kids and show them a good time.

The Whole Group

Olivia didn't want to give Santa a hug,
so he gave her a thumbs up instead

Bella was excited about her new big cheetah..."Sheba"

Monique loves her American Girl Doll.
She named her Sally

Grandma also gave Olivia an American Girl Doll.
Her name is Molly.

So Behind!

I'm going to finally start posting stuff from Thanksgiving and Christmas time....so get ready!!

My Cute Primary Kids!

This year for our Ward Christmas Party our assignment was the program. I have an amazing secretary who wrote a beautiful program full of special musical numbers and Primary songs. My little kiddies did such a fantastic job. They did everything we asked of them and were reverent and no one picked their nose! We had our Mary and Joseph, 3 Wise Men, and Shepherds. Our CTR 5 class were the stable animals, (Monique was a Donkey) the Sunbeams were the Shepherds sheep, (thank you to our Sunbeam teacher for making all the animal masks) and the rest of the girls and boys were the angelic choir. All the girls had white dresses thanks to my wonderful second counselor who just happened to have a bunch of white dresses in all different sizes sitting in her storage room. (Izabella was so "lucky" to get one of the most frilly, fluffy dresses available. As her mother...I thought it was so lovely!) They all looked handsome, cute and beautiful. The whole program was such a success and we couldn't have done it without our little, amazing, Primary Cuties!

GOBBLE...GOBBLE...GOBBLE

We had so much fun doing this craft. (I came up with the idea all by my little lonesome!) The girls had these little baby pumpkins, and I wanted some more Thanksgiving decorations, so we made these little turkeys! Putting in all the feathers kept them busy for a while, and the best part? They didn't fight while making them. Ah, the joys of kids using their imaginations! It was a wonderful Sunday afternoon together.

I sometimes forget how much they love doing crafts. I really should come up with some more crafts for them to do during this season. It's so much easier to be creative with crafts when you have a Holiday to base them around. Hmmmmm.......what should we do next?

Monique loved the googly eyes

"Look at my gobble gobble mommy!"

Why can't she just give me a normal smile?

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN...

It's October, which means...HALLOWEEN!
I love Halloween oh so very much.

SNOW DAY

We had this crazy snow storm blow in (two days of constant snow) so we needed something to do since the girls were on fall break. We decided to make "Haunted Houses" I think they did a really great job!

PUMPKINS

Besides the dressing up, I love gutting and carving pumpkins. Kirk was working, so we were on our own for pumpkin carving. Olivia was really good and cleaned out her own pumpkin. Bella loves all the guts, and Monique didn't want to touch hers, but did it anyway. Monique and Olivia drew the face they wanted, and then I cut it out for them. (They also made a few extra drawings!) Izabella was on her own for the first time this year. She did a great job I must say. (Kirk let her carve his pumpkin as well...she was in heaven.)

THE FINISHED PRODUCT

AND THE 2009 LIMA FAMILY
HALLOWEEN THEME IS:

DISNEY VILLAINS!

Yes, you had better watch out for us if you dressed up as a princess or dalmatian this year. We don't like anything fluffy, beautiful or nice. We just want to be cranky and spiteful.
Hey, it's what we do!

Jafar
He's our man, if he can't do it...GREAT!

Snow White Hag
Oh yes, Kirk enjoyed every opportunity to call me an old hag
Monique kept saying,
"I wish you were the pretty queen."

Maleficent
She was really excited when people recognized who she was supposed to be

Cruella Deville
If she doesn't scare you, no evil thing will
(even though she has such a cute smile!)

Ursula
When we first tried her costume on, she cried because of all the legs.
Once Bella and Mo told her how cute it was, she went around saying
"Look at my cute legs!"

Thanks to my sister for helping my vision come to pass!
