MONIQUE-ISM'S

I'm counting down the top 3 Monique crack-up's of the last couple of weeks.

NUMBER 3

Kirk was trying to help her with her nightgown, and was really struggling to get it right. (Monique likes only "pretty" nightgowns)

After they were all done, Kirk said
"I'm sorry, I just don't know about girl stuff."

"That's ok Daddy, you can make noodles," Monique replied.

Priceless!

NUMBER 2

Monique was supposed to be working on her room. We had asked her over and over. Finally, Kirk told her she had to go into her room, and clean for
10 minutes.

"But, I can't Daddy," she said.

"And why not?" Kirk asked.

"BECAUSE I'M A PRINCESS!"

Kirk looked at me and said, "We're in big trouble."

I told her to go ask her Cinderella doll if Princesses had to do chores. She disapeared for a couple of minutes, and came back to reply,
"OK, I'll go work on my room."

Thank you Cinderella!

AND THE NUMBER 1 MONIQUE-ISM...

The other day I saw Monique out of the corner of my eye kissing her Barbie head. It's one of those do my hair Barbie thingies...with just a big head and some shoulders. I watched her for a few minutes, and she kissed her over and over. These were not little pecks ~ OH NO ~ these were "movie star" kisses. I finally asked her what she was doing, and we had the following conversation:

Mommy - "What are you doing Monique?"

Mo - "I'm kissing her."
(with a look like, duh Mommy...can't you see that?!)

Mommy - "Why are you doing that?"

Mo - "BECAUSE I'M THE PRINCE!"

Why didn't I know that? She must think I'm the dumbest Mommy ever.

OF COURSE! She's the Prince. Why didn't I think of that?

We love you Monique...you always keep us entertained!

Olivia the Thief!

Don't leave your food unattended!

It used to be that we had to watch our food because of the dog, but now....BEWARE OF OLIVIA! If you leave the table to get a drink or use the restroom, or what-not, you will return to find your food missing, and a messy baby. Olivia is a food thief! I don't know what we are going to do with her, because she's not very stealthy, gets very messy, and therefore, she's going through 3-4 outfits per day. (That's a lot of laundry!) Monique gets very upset when she leaves her lunch to go potty, and upon her return....hot dog GONE!

Bella Goes to the Dentist!

Yesterday, Izabella had two teeth pulled (her bottom fangs), sealants put on four molers, and a small cavity filled. Of all of that, she was most worried about the teeth pulling. She has been worried since her check-up two weeks ago. The dentist had to pull her teeth, because she doesn't have enough room, and her bottom teeth are coming in very crooked. We are hoping this will help with the problem, but I think she will have to have braces when she is older. Right now, she thinks it will be fun to have braces, but we'll see when the time comes. I felt really bad for her, but she was a total champ. Once she had the laughing gas, and things were started, she didn't even wince. In fact, the laughing gas was doing it's job, because she kept laughing and saying everything tickles! She was so numb, she couldn't smile very well, and I had a little fun teasing her. She is a lucky girl, because the Tooth Fairy gave her $10.00 for those two little teeth, and Grandpa called and said the Tooth Fairy also left $10.00 at his house for her. Wow! I think the Tooth Fairy was holding back when I was a kid! At least I know who to go to when I need to borrow money.

DISNEYLAND 2008

Wow! We went to Disneyland twice this year. The first time was in February with some good friends of ours; Brian, Eleni, Samantha and Sara. It was fun to be there with all the little girls. The weather was great, the lines were short, and the only downside was listening to Brian complain about how light his wallet was getting. Kirk and Brian were making up advertisements about "Come to Disneyland where we will take all your money, and make your kids so tired they cry..." Boys can be terrible sometimes. We ate lunch at Ariels Grotto and the girls adorned their princess dresses, and met their favorite princesses. Monique was so excited when Cinderella came around the corner....dreams really do come true in Disneyland.

The second trip was with the Old Lima's, Kirk's brother David, and Kirk's sisters' family-Monica, Bruce, Austin and Alena. Poor Austin is the only boy cousin, and he's so good with all the girls. Again, we had a great time. It was a little warmer, but not too bad. Olivia was walking by this time, so that made things a little better for her. She was scared of all the characters at first, but after a while she became really excited about the whole thing. She loved Tigger, and was very mad when we left him. Izabella had a great time staying late with her dad and riding all the big rides. Monique tried the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and wasn't quite sure about it at first, but then asked to go on it again. We stopped at a little show in California Adventure, and Izabella was asked to go on stage, and be a part of the act. She danced a little, and sang "You Ain't Never Had a Friend Like Me!" And you know what? At the end of the show-out came Cinderella, Mickey and Woody. Monique was beside herself. Can dreams really come true twice in one year? They did for Monique. In fact, it was three times, because she made me stop at that same show an hour later. I think she told Cinderella her life story. Monique's favorite ride is Pirate's of the Carribean, Bella's is California Screamer, and Olivia really liked all the Fantasy Land rides. She always cried when we had to get off the ride. All in all, I think it's been a good year so far... Maybe next year we can go three times!

Here We Go!

So, I've decided to join the blogging bandwagon! I have this fantastic friend who had the great idea to use the blog as journal entries. I'm a terrible journal writer, so maybe this will help me. Also, since we have moved to Colorado, I can pretend all the people who love us in Utah will want to check out all the fun, exciting things we are doing. (I guess I should hurry and make something up.)

So, look forward to all the amazing, clever, and insightful things I could maybe post.

Good Luck to me!
